The initial focus of the leadership team is to plan fun, time sensitive, events for the men of the church and, hopefully, the friends they invite. We understand the inherent busyness of men. We want the focus of our men to be first and foremost to their families and their other duties within the church. Our aim is not to burden the men with lots of time consuming events. These events might include a men’s BBQ, bowling, going to a sporting event, shared interests activities like shooting or golf, and of course we will continue to host our men’s breakfast. In the future we may also have multi-day events like a Men’s retreat or a weekend seminar. Through these activities our goal is to connect men of similar interests. We want the men of the church to know if they want to go fishing, play a round of golf, or talk to someone about a struggle or a success, they have someone they can call.

You will see us refer to the men of ECPC as Kingdom Men. This name was chosen some time ago and we discussed choosing a different one, but in reality, Kingdom Man sums up the walk of the Christian Man maybe better than any other moniker. Dr. Tony Evans in his book “Kingdom Man” describes him this way.

When a kingdom man steps out his door each day, heaven, earth, and hell take notice. When he protects or “covers” the woman under his care, she can do little to resist him. His children look to him with confidence. Other men look to him as someone to emulate. His church calls on him for strength and leadership. He is a preserver of culture and a champion of society to keep out evil and usher in good. A kingdom man understands that God never said a godly life would be easy, He just said it would be worth it.

The journey of a Kingdom Man is not an easy one, but we believe it is one that is worth it, and one that is made easier by having Godly men in each other’s lives.
